A need was identified this year during our inclement weather response. Most blankets provided by warming stations are not sufficient for the elements and often get discarded. Additionally, some of our neighbors do not feel comfortable entering a facility, even for one night, and prefer to brave the elements.

This combined need inspired The Blanket Project.

We have designed a triple layered blanket that provides warmth, anti-microbial properties, water resistance, and offers fire resistance. This design is not readily available for purchase, so, we will be working with a local volunteer sewing circle to construct the blankets, and then distribute them among our neighbors.
